Primary Lessons and Workshops

Teaching Modern Foreign Languages within the primary education setting is not just important because it is now required by the curriculum, but also because it helps children to develop a greater cultural awareness and compliments and enhances their learning in other areas. However, equipping children to build a firm foundation in Modern Foreign Languages without a language specialism can be a major challenge.

We have worked with local schools to offer PPA cover and/ or MFL teaching support since the national curriculum framework changes introducing languages to key stage 2 in 2014. Working with classes from nursery through to year 6 we offer a varied programme and link in to the local secondary and high schools to ensure a smooth transition of our students.

Sessions are engaging and students make significant progress in both language and cultural knowledge.

Our work with schools is tailored to each school. The services we offer are varied and include:

      • PPA cover

      • MFL lesson delivery

      • CPD and all staff training

      • Language Experience days and workshops

      • Penpals and school twinning
